Tanktalus' Tower BBS
No silly graphics to slow you down... Well, no, not quite. Just not too many
silly graphics.
Note: the URL to this page is http://tower.to.org. If you used
anything else to reach this page, it is because pretty much everything ending
in .to.org reaches this site. If you don't think you used,
.to.org, you did. You may be looking for the website for
Fidonet Net250. Or you may be using an invalid
URL.
Tanktalus, a kindly, absent-minded sage, a self-styled dabbler
in the mystic arts, built (or, rather, created) a misshapen tower in
the deserts of Anauroch1 - a suiting
testament to his clear mental prowess.
In this tower, he houses himself and his many automatons2, continually foraging for
information, much through the magical dog called Fido3. Lately, he has taken to exchanging
information using this new magic called "In Tern
Et"4.
Only the powerful adventurer can make a call to
this tower in the desert. Of these, the addled sage welcomes warmly,
always thirsting for knowledge of outside this tower: of this world and
others that those who seek may tell about.
Once there, they may tell him about other magical places, and ask him
about places he knows about. In this new magic, the "In Tern Et",
the teleport spell is known as a link.
In his off hours, the sage has written his own books5, offering them to whomever would
like a copy.
